The forgotten victim of the paparazzi
(Most of the info below is taken from Waiting for Britney Spears by Jeff Weiss, and my own predictions)
Everybody talks about how Britney was ruined by the paparazzi. But I don’t see as much people talk about how her first baby was also ruined by the paparazzi.
On a day in 2006, Britney wanted to go to Starbucks, and spend time with Sean who wasn’t even one year old yet. Suddenly, there’s clicks and flashes. Britney knows what’s about to happen. She told Sean to just look at me. Just close your eyes.
Then, the camera people were all over Britney - "JUST ONE BIG SMILE!!" Sean was crying. Britney didn't care about a "perfect image". She wanted to protect Sean. And because Britney is emotionally attached to Sean, and Sean is crying, and Britney has postpartum depression, Britney is also crying. The camera people didn't care - "Tears sell double". They intentionally surrounded Britney because they knew she's a young mom. Young moms need space, especially when they're with their baby.
She tried to escape into a Starbucks and the workers pulled out cameras. She was crying.
The entire time Britney literally did not care about what the paparazzi did to her. You could paint me in the most disgusting light you want. Just leave Sean alone. He never asked for this. Please. I'll do anything. Britney tried to escape with Sean and yet they still advanced and put both Britney and Sean on headlines. Britney was crying because not even "Bad Britney" is enough for the paparazzi. They also needed Sean in the frame to highlight that Britney is a "mother" and should act better.
And once Britney pulled into her gated house, she gave a crying Sean a big hug. She told Sean she’s so, so sorry about what happened, and that he is so brave.
Of course, TMZ knew all of that. But why put “young mother protects baby from flashing lights” when “Britney is a bad mom!” sells more? Britney couldn’t even be left alone being a mom.
The paparazzi may have given an “apology” to Britney. But as far as I know, not a single one of them have reached out to Sean. I don’t know what’s worse - an apology that’s not sincere or no apology at all
