NG+ needs some changes
Just finished the game and quit after 2hrs of NG+. Here is some feedback:
- I was excited to try more shells and weapons but not being able to try a shell fully upgraded from the start really hurts the replayability. Maybe something like the smelting of weapons would be a nice compromise.
- I don't like seeing all the beacons revealed, I think it's a nice when to measure your progress but it makes it feel like everything is done now. Also having the ability to teleport or cleanse the obstacles makes the fun navigation and exploring part of the beginning disappear.
- I loved the idea that you are left behind, the dialogue at the start with the disciple felt like the world was going to change to reflect more corruption and everyone was going to be aware but he was the only character that reflected that, I would love this idea expanded instead of a traditional Ng+ of playing the game all over again. I felt like there was something missing, felt a little bit rushed.
- I loved night mode at first, played most of NG 0 on it but you don't really feel any difference on NG + with it, I expected the game to be even harder but it feels kinda the same.
- One thing that hurts exploration a lot is the lack of items to gather, only gathering upgrade materials feels boring and at this point actives or passives feel useless, because there is only 1 slot on each there is not much experimentation to do, you tend to marry 2 or maybe 3 of them and that's it so getting them to 100 and over feels pointless. Even just being able to sell extra stock or materials would help the coin economy at the end.
- Not endgame related but Sester Genessa needs some fixes asap, I really like her but the doubles missing all their attacks makes the "normal" Genessa useless, sometimes when it works I see the potential but it's really buggy right now honestly this kinda was my breaking point.
In conclusion I loved the game and when there are some changes/DLC I will revisit it but right now it felt like there is supposed to be much more content at the end than there really is.
