Stylus won't connect

I got a 12" and can't get the stylus to connect. Of course I've googled it. I charged it on the magnetic connection on the tablet. I turned BT off and on. I tried pressing and holding the button on the stylus. I looked through advanced settings. I restarted the tablet. Any other ideas?
