I am much better recently

Sharing a win!

This is posted August 2026.

2016 to June 2021 my OCD was most severe. I suffered and struggled deeply with OCD, worrying endlessly about everything, afraid of everything, doubting everything, overthinking, and paranoia.

I could have died in the past.

I went to a therapist and psychiatrist many times in 2017 to 2019. I went to a psychiatrist many times 2019 to 2023. I gradually improved.

I started healing and recovering July 2021 to December 2024.

My OCD relapsed last year and this year.

I also made a terrible mistake that made things worse. Late June and early July I took 4 OCD medication pills instead of 2. The side effects were too severe. It made me worry endlessly and very afraid.

After July 9 I returned to taking my medication the normal amount.

I took a long break from seeing a therapist. I went to a new therapist since one month ago and had three sessions. I intend to go to this therapist in the future.

I am much better now.

I am still struggling, but much better.

I believe I will fully heal and recover from OCD a second time. Because I did it the first time when it was most severe.

Therapy and medication are important and helpful.

There is no cure for mental illness. But there is treatment.

You can heal, recover, and change for the better.

For the people who refuse to look for and get help, I have nothing to say. You're on your own.

For people who say therapy is too expensive, many times it is. But after searching for three weeks, I finally found a therapist who takes my insurance, which is for poor people. And these are in-person sessions. It is possible to find a therapist with low income or with insurance for low-income people.

Not everyone will agree with me. I'm okay with that. Therapists, psychiatrists, and medication saved my life.

Hope everyone reading this with this terrible mental illness heals and recovers and has a good, happy life in the future.
