A little different question

So a good friend of mine is a little over 1 year of being divorced. He is 53. The divorce was mutual and amicable. Both are financially independent. Kids gone, no baggage, no lingering animamosity. My wife and I know he would like to have a new relationship, but he has no desire to do the online sites. We are from the Era where " happy hours" were people went to meet. 3 Ds. elephant Bar Era. Is that still a thing? If so, please let me know. My wife and I would like to go with him sometime, if anything, just for being in that environment again
