Looking to help my sister start her life after homeschool, help youngest sister too if possible.

This situation is so questionable I don't even know how to label my post. My sister gave me permission to post on her behalf.

My sister needs to know if she needs her GED? She homeschooled to finish high school, and the university she wants to apply to has options for working with homeschooled students, but if she wants to work and save money in the meantime this might be a problem since most places want a GED if not diploma. We're in Michigan (U.S.), so it's basically a Free-For-All here as long as you have "religious objection".

I advised her to get her GED but our parents keep arguing that she can just say she's homeschooled, and the university she wants to apply to does have advising for homeschooled students, but I'm worried how this is going to be a barrier for college and any jobs she wants to apply to. The homeschooling she did to finish high school was a co-op program hosted at a church. I don't even know the name or if it's accredited. The co-op parents can apparently just print a certificate from the program saying "yeah we homeschooled" regardless of how many classes they actually attended. But that's another can of worms.

This whole thing started because she wanted to learn how to build a resume and we got stuck trying to put anything in the "education" section.

Our youngest sister is being homeschooled as well, and there's so much she's missing out on that homeschooling just can't provide. She's significantly younger though, so I'm limited in terms of what I can do without fighting our folks. Any advice on that front would be a blessing.
