Japanese ramen shop owner is reopening after a long hiatus. I've been a regular for years and want to give him a gift. Suggestions? (USA)

I've been a regular at a small ramen shop for many years. A few months ago, the owner had to close due to health issues, and they're finally reopening soon. I'd love to give them something to mark the occasion.

Two questions:

1. Is a gift appropriate here, or would it be overstepping?
2. If so, what would you suggest?
