The sky above the ruins of the sorcerer’s tower near Iceberg Lake had burned a sickly green the day the hero Billy shattered the Lich’s physical vessel. But the ultimate destruction of the Last Scholar of GOLB was a task too absolute for mere mortal weapons. Though Billy successfully exorcised the malevolent essence, sending it howling into the depths of the Land of the Dead, the entity could not be broken. Instead, a cosmic game of cat and mouse began. Death pursued the shadow with iron shackles, seeking to lock him forever in the pitch black void of the Zeroth Dead World. Yet the Lich silently crept through the shadows of the underworld, crawling steadily toward the vibrant realm of Life, intent on corrupting the source of existence itself. But she had been waiting for him. Forewarned and deliberate, the goddess held a vessel of her own design: a baby boy made of pristine clay, deliberately kneaded with the glowing, life giving blood of the Citadel Guardians. It was a flesh wrought cage engineered to contain the embodiment of extinction and evil. Catching the Lich’s essence in her grasp, she forced it into the clay, binding the dark soul to mortal marrow before casting the infant through the swirling vortex of the reincarnation portal. He was reborn as the human Mortimer Leroy Graves. His parents were part of a pioneer human colony sent from the safety of their archipelago, tasked with reclaiming a permanent settlement along the rugged southwest coast of Ooo. The joyous cries of his birth, however, quickly dissolved into a tense, terrified silence. The baby possessed a deathly, ashen pallor, and from his brow poked two small, unmistakable nubs. He was a mutant. Fearing a localized plague, the Seeker XJ-7-7 whisked the newborn away to Hub Island for a high security medical evaluation. There, under the cold, sterile lights of the clinic, Dr. Minerva Campbell and Dr. Gross scrutinized the infant. While Minerva searched for medical answers and any potential danger, Dr. Gross saw an unprecedented opportunity with her covertly siphoning vials of Mortimer's unique blood for her own private, twisted research. The boy was eventually permitted to return to the colony, but its laws dictated his exile in order to preserve the bloodlines of the untainted humans from being “contaminated”. Quarantined on the perimeter of the settlement, the Graves raised their son with a fierce, protective devotion, doing their best to shield him from the fearful whispers of the other colonists. Yet, they could not shield him from the tenant inside his own skull. Deep within the dark recesses of Mortimer's subconscious, the vestige of the Lich sat enthroned. As the boy grew, the ancient entity lingered in the periphery of his vision, stared back at him through cracked mirrors, and invaded his dreams with rhythmic, raspy whispers of total annihilation. But Mortimer didn't break. Instead, he listened, learned, and began experimenting with the dark magics that began bleeding into his veins. As he grew, Mortimer had evolved into a striking anomaly. He possessed a lean, muscular frame capped by a crown of massive, sweeping horns identical to the Lich’s own. Striking out on his own, he established a base of operations inside an abandoned, pre-Mushroom War bomb shelter—a place he kept spotlessly tidy and organized, a stark contrast to his highly chaotic and roguish nature. He quickly proved to be a natural dungeon diver, blending the acrobatic grace and agility of a hunter with the deceptive sturdiness and strength he inherited from the Citadel Guardian blood. He wasn't driven by a hero's call, but by a craving for wealth, knowledge, and power, willing to utilize trickery and deceit whenever a dungeon trap or rival explorer got in his way. His rapidly expanding magical footprint did not go unnoticed. Sensing a massive, concentrated surge of dark arcane energy rippling from across the western horizon, Peppermint Butler tracked the anomaly to its source. Expecting a dangerous, rampant demon, the Candy Kingdom occultist instead found a calculating mutant young man dusting off ancient pre-war artifacts. Recognizing the terrifying, raw potential brimming beneath Mortimer's skin—and sensing the ancient shadow tied to his soul—Peppermint Butler masked his deep suspicions and offered a transactional truce. He would teach the boy how to properly harness and manipulate his dark gifts. When Mortimer hesitated, the candy butler spoke of a sanctuary further inland nestled in a mountain range named Wizwamo Canyon where their kind could live, barter, and study magic without the fear of exile: Wizard City. With a smirk and a taste for the unknown, Mortimer accepted, ready to plunder the secrets of the magical elite in order to become the most powerful wizard that he can be.

Hello, I hope you enjoyed reading that and had your interest piqued. As you could probably tell, I am looking for someone to role play as one or more female *Adventure Time* characters while I role play as my OC. All I ask is for you to have fandom knowledge of the series. I envision that Mortimer is from another universe within the series’s vast multiverse and he could get to the main universe via the Enchiridion. Or we could set in his home universe if you’re interested. I hope to see any takers soon.
