Raised by the golden child

Resource request. As I've been navigating my estrangement from my mom, I've realized most resources I've encountered explain the narc parent's behavior as rooted in abuse. However, in my case, I believe it's that my mom was the golden child, and I was wondering if anyone has come across anyone addressing this. What do the children of those who have never had to face the consequences their actions do?
