Gods don’t exist, humanity creates Gods, not the other way around.

So, what can I say I like hot takes and this is probably the most controversial I’ve thought of but had this opinion for a while. Might ruffle some feathers but I must add this isn’t a personal attack on anyone or any religion specifically but a general criticism of the idea of all of them.

My take boils down to the thought that gods/goddesses are all more akin to art than real things, people invent them to express emotions, thoughts, feelings, and stories and ultimately I think humans make up gods to supplement their want to see themselves reflected in the universe. They want to see a being they can relate to with thoughts and feelings and even form kind of like their own, it helps the ego to look at the seas and the stars and sky and think” their must be a guy or girl up there kind of like me controlling things”. Or some even want security and look at the universe and think, there’s something greater than me out there taking care of things I can relate to. Some seek to explain what they don’t fully understand like the thought of Zeus anger being lightning in the sky or Thor’s smashing hammer being a war of thunder. Ultimately I think there’s discussion to be had about gods/goddesses being ways humanity as a whole no matter the religion cope with existence. I hope this doesn’t offend, it’s just my take. I don’t expect everyone to agree.
