The clip above is testimony from Dr Gregory Saathoff, who is one of the three rebuttal Doctors for the Commonwealth. He's probably their "Big hitter", as he's served as the Senior Psychiatric Consultant to the FBI since 1996, at Quantico. An incredibly lofty position, I can't really think of many higher positions in the Country.

The fascinating part about this clip, is that Saathoff and Resnick were both working for the State on this Case, and Saathoff bolsters Resnick's opinion, by stating he's arguably the most respected person in his field in the Country.

Think about this:

If you're Reddington, why would you not want what is probably the most respected Dr in this field, to testify for you? After you've already hired him and he's agreed to be a Defence Witness. Especially as he will be analysing Resnick's report.

Why would you not want to bolster your own Witness, Resnick, with the testimony that Saathoff gives above?

Reddington chose Dr Spinelli, over Dr Resnick. However, because Dr Spinelli is no longer allowed to testify, due to her bias and comment made in recent days on Social Media, Reddington has to call Resnick. Dr Spinelli is a blatant "Gun for Hire" type witness.

Reddington really doesn't want to call Resnick, and we saw how quick Reddington was to shut down the Commonwealth's questioning of Zeizel over Resnick's report.

Resnick's report isn't great for the Defence. Otherwise, why would you deliberately try and avoid putting the most credible person in this field on the stand, instead of a gun for hire advocate?

Reddington didn't want Dr Resnick to testify.
