Good tank size for what i want and plants to look for?

Am planning out a tank and wondering a few things
- Can Kuhlis, pygmy corys, and cherry shrimp be kept in the same tank?
- how big a tank would about a dozen of each fish and a shrimp colony be comfy in?
- what plants would they like?
Thx for any advice
