4 Years Sober Today

Obligatory post reflecting on 4 years alcohol free! Truly can’t believe it some days because there was a time when I couldn’t string together 24 hours. Life looks so different. My salary has doubled, I own two homes, I’m married to the greatest guy who stuck by me while I was at my worst, we have a 2 year old and I’m 20 weeks pregnant with our 2nd child. My only regret is that I waited so long to get sober (30 years old, drank for most of my adult life).

For anyone struggling in the early days of sobriety, stick with it! I know how hard and boring it can feel. Like life will never be the same or you’ll never be able to do the things you use to love. I can easily be in settings with alcohol and do all the things I use to love and more, but it wasn’t like that in the early days you just have to get through it.

PS Naltrexone absolutely saved my life do not be afraid of getting on it to help with cravings in the beginning!
