The most common criticism I’ve seen for the new show is of the child voice actors. Me personally, I don’t mind it really that much, and I think it’s something that we all can get used to, especially with the sour taste of AEG out of our mouths. However, I’m very concerned for how the songs are handled, since we can clearly hear them in the trailer. They sound very Ed Welch like, and that could either be good, or very bad. That’s personally what I fear crosses the line between being a kids show that adults can also enjoy and something adults won’t be able to take seriously. Otherwise, I definitely feel like I can get used to the new voices, and if Bluey can have British kids voicing the main characters and have a dedicated fanbase, then Thomas can have that too.

Otherwise, I love the animation, and I’m actually a big fan of the faces, they look extremely good in animated form. The lighting is also beautiful.
I like Bruno having more of a presence. I never watched AEG but I heard he was a good idea.
It genuinely feels like Sodor too. No more dumb gimmicks (hopefully) and just regular slice of life content, with normal toys ACTUALLY ABOUT TRAINS DOING TRAIN THINGS. In a weird way, everything has a model HIT era vibe, from the simplicity of the story ideas, to the songs, to the merchandise, and even just the way everything is shot. I think all of this can be either a great way to reboot the franchise, or another blunder.

A few bonus things.
I love the lamp code attention to details.
The new “Crane Truck” looks cool.
I’m personally fine with Tidmouth Sheds having a big sign on it.
THE VIADUCT!!!!
