Saw newborn teacher driving recklessly

Parental Leave/Work

We have an 11 week old who was going to go to daycare early September. My wife was on the fence about daycare at first but lately has grown excited to get back to work.

Today we had an ice cream social to meet her teacher and see the school again. On the way there, I noticed a car riding my ass (probably 5 ft away), phone in hand and taking Snapchats or picture from every angle. I was watching and told my wife to take a look at this asshole. Pulled up to a red light about a half mile from the daycare. Same thing, nonstop snapchats and phone in hand. Nearly rear ended me one of the times we were inching forward. Wife gave her a nasty stare from the window.

Well we turn into the road with the daycare, so does she. We pull into the parking lot and she parks in the adjacent lot. We both we sort of joking “what if she works here”. Walked in, talked to the director and she walks us back to our room. Welllll well well….. the same lady! It was awkward, my wife was visibly spiraling and she left in tears.

Neither of us feel safe with this person handling our 3 month old if she has that much disregard for her own life or cars around her. Not to mention fears of retaliatory actions because my wife gave her a nasty look. Are we overreacting or is this valid? Most likely going to be cancelling and have my wife stay home until we find a solution but she would lose her job since maternity leave ends in 2 weeks.
