Does practice become another form of attachment?
I’ve been thinking about this lately.
We often talk about attachment to comfort, pleasure, people, outcomes etc. But I wonder if it is also possible to become attached to our practice.
A certain number of minutes, A certain routine, A certain feeling after practice….
The idea that we must never miss a day!
In my experience, there is a difference between being committed to sadhana and becoming psychologically dependent on maintaining a particular form of it.
I think the commitment should take us towards greater freedom, not make us frightened of breaking our routine.
Maybe the deeper question isn’t only, “Did I do my practice today?” …. Maybe it’s also, “What is my relationship with the practice?”
Curious how others here see this😁😇
