A dream job opportunity has come out of nowhere, trying to keep it together.
First post on this sub, hi all.
so I'm happily employed but I've kindof hit a plateau at my current work, I figured I'd send my CV to a few roles around, one of them which was a possible big deal responded for a screening call.
the screening call went better than my wildest dreams, the internal recruiter was immediately interested in my extended career and said "actually we have a role that's not advertised we think you would be a fit for"
the JD he sent me was literally the type of job that could change the course of my life forever if I got it, like a fantasy job, I already work in a very senior role... but this was on a whole other level, also my experience lined up about 90% with the job requirements.
Anyway he asked me to retool my CV aligned to this role which I then stayed up all night doing, I mailed it off the next morning and got a response in under 24 hours that it was well received and somebody would be flying out to meet me for an interview.. at this point my brain was exploding.
Anyway this all feels like a fever dream, I'm kind-of shocked how positive everything has been, I was super honest and didn't exaggerate anything in the process so far now I'm looking at an in person interview in 2 weeks.
I'm aware it's nowhere near final steps but ive been given an opportunity which is a lot further than many get.
anyone else ever had something like this happen? any tips for planning?
