ATF Drug Policy

Hello everyone,

I am seeking out guidance through the current ATF (open continuous) announcement. I applied 6/2/26, received email of eligibility 6/25/26, and took my online assessments 7/12/26. I am currently waiting to schedule my PT.

Anyways, I wanted to get opinions and/or answers regarding the drug policy. I am a fresh college graduate (May 2026), and I experimented with cocaine. I used it on and off for about 3-4 months (never purchased or was addicted) and then took a long break. I ended up trying it one more time March 2024, and I haven’t had anything since then. Which is now coming up on 3 years.

During the application process, no drug questions were ever brought up like most other announcements, so I assumed they did a judgement call on past usage. I recently stumbled along the policy and I realize I don’t meet the criteria.

Is it possible to still to stay in the process after the interviews when I disclose this with them? Should I drop out now to avoid getting any kind of wait if I fail a certain stage? If anyone could give some insight that’d be greatly appreciated.
