Breakup story :(
I started liking this girl when I was in 8th grade.
Fast forward to 11th. We finally started talking, and we used to laugh together a lot in class. Whenever something funny happened, we'd automatically look at each other. Eventually, after months of talking, I told her how I felt and she said yes.
For a while, everything went pretty much how I had imagined it. We dated for around 5–6 months and made a lot of memories together.
Then we had a fight and stopped talking for a while. We eventually became friends again, and she knew I still loved her. After a lot of trying, we got back together.
Things were good again, until around Valentine's Day.
I couldn't meet her on the 14th because I was somewhere else, and she said she couldn't meet either because everyone was at home.
The next day, I found out she had gone to meet a guy who was apparently just a friend at the time. We had a small argument about it, and shortly after that she started telling our mutual friends that I had changed.
On the 17th feb, we broke up.
Then on the 20th feb, I found out she was already dating that same guy.
I only found this out recently, and honestly, I'm struggling to process it. I had liked this person for around six years, and seeing her move on so quickly feels unreal.
She even told me that she still has feelings for me, but doesn't want to be with me.
I know I can't control what she does anymore. I just genuinely don't understand how someone can move on so quickly after everything.
I'm not here to attack her. I just needed somewhere to get this off my chest.
Any advice on how to actually move on from someone you've liked for this long?
