Slay the Spire 2 vs Darkest Dungeon 2

Hey everyone, I’m looking for a new roguelike but I haven't really played the originals much. I put maybe 20 hours into the first Slay the Spire (liked it, but never went super deep), and I tried Darkest Dungeon 2 for a few hours on ps plus.

Since I'm coming into both of these sequels relatively fresh, I'm trying to figure out which one is more accessible and rewarding:

  • Slay the Spire 2: Since I only played a tiny bit of the first one, will this feel completely fresh, or is it too iterative? Is it friendly to someone who knows the basic rules of deckbuilding but isn't a hardcore veteran?
  • Darkest Dungeon 2: The art style and grim atmosphere look incredible, but I know it's a party-based tactical RPG with stress mechanics and a road-trip format. Is it overwhelming for a total newcomer to the series, or is it a good entry point?

Which one is best in terms of quality over quantity? I want to play it mainly on handheld so being easy to read on a small screen and easy to play with joysticks and controller layout is a must.

Thanks for the advice!
