My parents are fucking idiots

Rant/Vent

TL;DR My middle-aged Taiwanese immigrant parents always cheaps out on everything, yet they'll complain about the poor quality of the products they paid for, and they never learn.

Recently my mom bought a $23 pair of athletic sneakers from Amazon, and when they arrived, she was furious about the low quality and that they were shipped from China, then blamed the seller for "scamming her". I was so tempted to tell her that it was all on her for choosing to buy the cheapest fucking sneakers possible and expecting premium quality out of them. Like obviously, if you want high quality athletic sneakers, you'll need to spend hundreds of dollars for name brand shoes, and not some random $20 no-brand-name shoes from Amazon. But the thing is, situations like this had happened millions of times before (basically my whole life), and this idiot just never learns. And she doesn't trust anything I say, even when she is clearly wrong, so it ain't worth my time explaining anything to this moron. Even when I tell my parents to look things up online if they don't trust me, they'll completely disregard my suggestion, because they think that they'll always right and I'm always wrong. And the irony is that they are pro-AI MAGA supporters that fall for all sorts of misinformation online all the time, yet when I tell them to do research online on anything, suddenly that is misinformation, because I was the one who told them to look it up.

Recently, my parents and I had an arguement about shampoo. They were angry at me for spending $20 on shampoo that works very well for my hair and scalp concerns, because they think that shampoo shouldn't cost any more than $5, and that all shampoos work for all hair types, because they don't know shit about anything. Anyways, so I explained to them that I have tried many cheap shampoos before, and they all made my scalp extremely itchy, greasy, and dandruff-ridden just after 1 day since washing, whereas the Korean shampoo I use makes my hair look clean for 3 days after washing, never makes my scalp itchy, and never gives me danduff even when I don't wash my hair for 4 days. And of course, my dad yelled "THEN WHY DON'T YOU TALK TO THE DOCTOR ABOUT IT", because despite everything I told him, he thinks that all (cheap) shampoo works wonders for all hair types, unless you have a medical condition. At this point, we can have an actual dermatologist or hair professional explain everything about hair care to my parents, and they still won't believe them just because they refuse to spend more than $5 on shampoo.

But anyways, they're the type of people that always buys the cheapest possible option for everything, because they think "expensive" things are a "waste of money", yet when the cheap products don't meet their stupid and unrealistic expectations, they'll blame anyone but themselves for it. Like what the fuck do they expect of a $3 shirt (for instance) that they got from the clearance section of a discount store (no joke, my mom literally only wears clearanced single-digit priced clothing from discount stores, and thinks anything over $10 is "expensive"). And no, we are not super poor or anything. Well, my post is probably getting too long, so I'll end my rant here.
