The Prologue - From The Madness Of The Number Man
Are you paying attention?
In most instances, during the second part of a story or even the third or fourth part, the storyteller will go into a brief description of prior events in order to refresh the minds of those who have returned to the story. It’s a very effective and easy way of encapsulating the mood and direction of a story. It’s also a way to inform those who may have come into a story midway through that there is more to it that came before; thereby ensnaring more readers who just happened to purchase the second part on a whim, for example, because the cover caught their eye or there was something in the title that spoke to them. It's a tried and true form of storytelling that no one in their right mind would ignore. As I am a storyteller who likes to follow tradition, please indulge me whilst I reach back to the prior events in our story.
