Upgrade WiFi adapter

I’m currently living a in master lease apartment by my college, I do not have Ethernet. I’m on the third floor and I practically have no idea where the wifi is coming from but I can test.

I currently have the wifi adapters that come with asus motherboards, the ones that can just plug and play basically

I’m wondering if there are any that are better for my circumstances since I know there are usually better stuff then stock items, I just have no knowledge of this and don’t want to waste my money
