Check out “Today’s Notes!” (Trying this out!)
Hey y’all - some of you may know that I do these recaps of sorts (when I can!) in another sub! It’s all just fun and goofiness, maybe occasional flashes of brilliance. 😉 It occurred to me to post them here too, it seems like this might be a good audience for them! Just feeling the waters! 😊 Here we go…
Today’s Notes! The “General Hospital’s First Annual Psychological Wellness Retreat!!” edition!
• Welcome to our first retreat, and thank you for joining us!! I’m Jason Morgan, you probably know me best as a mobster and hitman. But I’ve changed my life, and now I am a businessman, sorta!! You can do it too! Whether you are seeking a change in your career or your love life, we are going to help you get there!!
• Please look at the brochures in your welcome packet for a description of the great workshops we have to offer this weekend. Here are some of the highlights!
• “How to Not Be a Psycho Stalker and Get the Girl of your Dreams.” Speaker: Lulu Spencer. Lulu will share her insights about how to be chill and go with the flow (*based on observations rather than personal experience).
• “I Might Be a Psycho Stalker but Tell Me I’m Not Seeing This.” Speaker: Ric Lansing. Ric will be speaking about how he learned the difference between paranoid obsession and normal jealous obsession!
• “Stop Meddling! But Still Get Everyone to Do What You Want!” Speaker: Carly Spencer. Wait, Carly, we talked about this… ah, go hear what she has to say. No one does it better!
• “Vodka, Public Exposure, and Ex-Lovers; How to Survive Panic Attacks and More” Speaker: Valentin Cassadine. I mean, I don’t need to explain this one, do I?
• “Girl Boss! You Too Can Run Your Own International Company!” Speaker: Josslyn Jacks. Joss will tell us how she successfully became a CEO by being born lucky and wearing her dad’s old suits.
• “Coping with Loss: They Weren’t That Bad, and They Are Probably Not Dead Anyway.” Speaker: Liesl Obrecht. Dr. Obrecht talks about losing both of her children, then getting one back, then getting the other back, then finding out there was a third child and that she didn’t get the first one she lost back, then losing the third…. Yeah, you are just going to have to hear this one for yourselves!
• “My Milkshake Brings All the Boys to the Yard!” Speaker: Elizabeth Baldwin. Elizabeth talks about how she is irresistible to every man in Port Charles (including me! Wait, what??) but yearns to be more than someone’s angel or obsession.
• So much to choose from!! In between workshops, please enjoy the comfy amenities provided by Dr. Lucas Jones and Detective Joe Fitzpatrick, who have supplied several truckloads of extra comfy couches! Thanks guys!!
• And as the retreat ends, we hope you will enjoy us at one of our two - yes, two! - Labor Day cookouts. Cookout #1 will be hosted by one of our speakers, Dr. Obrecht, where she will serve lots of Bratwurst and beer. Sure to be a rollicking good time!
• And Cookout #2 will be hosted by my former employer, Sonny Corinthos, in his new Zen cave up on Hardy Hill. Come enjoy an elegant and serene occasion with great food, great company, and hopefully no one gets shot or kidnapped or set on fire. I mean, I’m going to the Obrecht party, so things could happen. Anyway… thanks for coming! Namaste!
• Performers of the Day! I know I keep giving Finola Hughes (Anna) the Gold, but I’m finding it hard not to!! In fairness, instead of Gold, I’m going to give her a Special Achievement Award for “best performance in a story that is bugging me and making me want to cry.”
• Bronze to our new favorite duo, Van Hansis and Jonathan Bennett, bringing us a little beacon of light and something to smile about!! They have a nice vibe together, I’m digging it!
• Silver to James Patrick Stuart as Valentin. I’ve had, like, three panic attacks in my life. They are awful. I kinda wish I had Valentin with me for at least one of them! No one ever offered me Vodka. 😂
• Gold to Rick Hearst as Ric but also to… Alexa Havins as Lulu. Shhh, don’t tell the Lulu downvote army!! If you had asked me to put two random characters together just to see if it worked, I might have picked these two! It doesn’t have to be a romantic thing, I just like their rapport. They seem like two people who could have a fun and interesting dynamic. I like it!
• This was a relatively wholesome episode. How unusual, these days! Namaste, night crew!
