2003 Nissan Maxima GLE (72K miles) for $7K?

I'm looking for a car for some of our kids to learn how to drive in and found a 2003 Maxima with only 72k miles on it at a local dealer. The Carfax looks clean with a decent service record. It is priced within a range I can afford to pay cash for but I'm not entirely sure it's a good deal.

We have a 2009 Maxima with over 180K on it with no major issues and my limited research would suggest the 2003, if properly maintained, would theoretically be even more reliable due to the non-CVT and it being the last model year made in Japan.

Any input from those more in the know is appreciated.
