Can ultrawide monitors be made to appear to OS' as two displays?

I currently have two displays. I game on the left one and keep the right one for Spotify, WhatsApp etc.

If I was to consider replacing the two with an ultrawide, it would need an option to be able to be seen by the OS as two seperate displays, so that when I play full screen games, it does not take over the whole display.

Is this generally a feature ultrawide displays have?
