Everyone in person loves what I'm building. Online, I'm invisible. What am I missing?
I'm building an MCP-native B2B knowledge platform, pre-seed, four design partners already using it.
Every time I explain it in person, the reaction is the same. Eyes light up. People ask follow-up questions. Founders want intros. Investors take the second call.
Online, none of that happens.
- X: posts get a handful of views, no engagement.
- Reddit: early posts here got zero traction.
- SEO: landing pages are live, indexed, basically invisible in search. I've run a site before where content drew traffic on its own once indexed. That's not happening this time.
- Cold outreach: low response rate, even with a personalized pitch.
Same product. Same pitch, adapted for the channel. Two completely different results.
I know the easy answer is "your online content is bad." Fair. But I want to understand the mechanism, not just hear "do more content."
Questions for people who've been through this:
- Did you find a specific channel where the pitch finally clicked, and can you tell what was actually different about how you approached it?
- How do you translate an in-person "aha" reaction into something that survives a scroll?
- For MCP/dev-tool/B2B SaaS specifically, did cold outreach or SEO ever actually work pre-seed, or is it all warm network until you have real proof points?
Not looking for "post more consistently." Looking for what actually changed the equation for you.
