Why in u.s healthcare is so slow ?

Why do doctor take forever to give treatment for someone with health problems. They recommended first visiting primary doctor then they give a referral to a specialist and then they end up requesting for further testing from CT X-ray scans to blood work and small procedures. And once again follow up with a speaclist or primary care. It's like it takes a month or several weeks but in other countries doctors usually start treatment in short period.
