How to position yourself as a frequent job hopper? [and not for all the wrong reasons]
WFH workers: How to position your resume and experience when you jump frequently in one IC work to another?
Hi everyone. I’ve been working from home for almost two years, and over time I’ve noticed that my health and sleep have really taken a hit.
I live alone and also have family responsibilities, so it’s been difficult to turn down work when opportunities come up. At one point, I was handling 10+ clients simultaneously. The income was great, but eventually I had to step back because I realized I wasn’t getting enough rest and it wasn’t sustainable for me.
Right now, I only have one client/work arrangement, and the pay is decent, but the schedule is 10 PM–7 AM. The problem is that my natural sleep schedule seems to be completely incompatible with it. I normally start getting sleepy around 1 PM, and I’m also a very light sleeper. I’ve tried adjusting my sleep schedule, improving my sleep environment, and pretty much every suggestion I could find, but I’m still struggling.
I’m now seriously considering looking for a morning or mid-shift WFH position instead. My concern is how to position my resume with skills and results I got from my 2-3 months roles, and ofc finding something that pays enough to cover my expenses. A lot of the opportunities I come across seem to be for graveyard shifts.
My experience is mainly in:
- Marketing strategy
- GoHighLevel (GHL) operations
- Social media management
For those who have made a similar transition, how did you go about finding decent-paying WFH work with a morning or mid shift in the means of positioning your resume and yourself?
Would really appreciate advice on how to frame my resume.
