Can't understand AAVE

I've been listening to more hip-hop lately, but I'm really struggling to catch the words when a lot of Black rappers are spitting.

It ain't even a slang thing—I just straight-up can't process what some of 'em are saying in real time. I usually have zero issues with most English accents, but with these flows, I have to lock in like crazy and even with that, I need to look up the lyrics half the time.

Here's the weird part tho–it's not even consistent, I'll listen to a track and catch every word, but the next track by the same exact rapper, I'm completely lost.

Anyone else experienced this? If so, what'd you do to fix it?
