AIO - Do you know you’re punching?!

At the weekend we were at a friends house for his bday so my wife (39) was drinking while I drove (41M). All good and the night was ending, a mate and his wife lived 10mins away so I drove them home, en route the woman kept saying how she loved my partner and she’s a good laugh and all jolly. But near the end of the journey, her attitude changed a wee bit to be a bit more aggressive and asked me like 3-4 times “yeah, you know you’re punching, right?” Then before she got out the car got me to turn round and looked me in the eye and said the same thing. As I was sober and she was drunk and it was past midnight, just agreed as I wanted my bed and no point arguing with a drunk person.

Last few days, the more Ive thought about it the more it’s pissed me off for different reasons -

- Punching, the word i feel has a negative connotation to it. She is trying to devalue me and are relationship is purely on looks! For context I know my lucky, but for the whole package, 10 years in 2x kids etc!

- the way she worded it. Felt more of a passive aggressive dig. Or like a power move. Like she wasn’t actually saying it but getting me to agree with her assertion and the last time looking me in eyes as she said it. I know she was drunk, but drunk people sometimes speak the real honest thoughts.

AIO being too sensitive to a drunk and should just let it go? Or NOR?
