"Connection Error Timeout"

I recently installed i3wm Arch but am unable to configure proton-vpn to a workable state. Every time I try and connect it loads for around 10 minutes, then echoes "Connection Error Timeout", then repeats infinitely until I stop it. Has anybody else had the same issue, and if so, can you share the solution?
