DAE feel uncomfortable with positivity / optimism for some reasons?
I don't know why I feel repelled and uncomfortable whenever I encounter optimism / positivity (even some very popular opinions or sources).
For example, many people recommend Always Look on the Bright Side of Life by Monty Python because it can cheer you up. I went to listen it, but I just couldn't feel better or moved. I know it has lots of good reviews. This made me wonder if there was something wrong with me or it's my problem.
Why do I feel that sometimes admitting there are no atual good aspects (I mean the actual) to my life actually makes me feel better than being told don't lose hope or looking on the good side of life…? Like a "palliative care" to me if it makes sense. I went through a long period of having my feelings and emotions ignored and dismissed.
Is it ok to not feel comforted in them? I'm worried it's my fault that positivity / optimism doesn’t make me feel better. 😰
(p.s. Plz don't get me wrong—I don't meant to offend anyone who like positivity.)
