Getting lucky isn't lucky anymore
With the changes to Starr road with this brawler blast system, now if you get lucky enough to get a brawler from the early access boxes or unlock one by maxing out the brawler boxes, it will make it so you won't be able to make use of the new progression system as it is only there if you unlock the brawler with "Credits". As we know credits is a worthless currency and having the ability to get some progression out of it is a good but the way early access works now, many players gain brawlers easily from those boxes making the changes to this system not that meaningful the way they decided to go about it in a lot of the cases. Like I myself has maxed out brawler boxes requirement multiple times to unlock the brawler but now the game basically incentivises players to just hope that they don't get the new brawler from the boxes and to just stop at the last box in the early access event so that players will be able to unlock the brawler with Credits
It's just a system that works completely against the other one. Mainly for players who has most if not all the brawlers so their credits will be going to waste either way as players unlock all the brawlers wayyyy before they can max out their accounts
That was just how it is for long term players/players who play good, for new players it is good and bad, as this change makes it so you won't know what brawler you will be working forward to, bring all the rng of the old brawl stars back where some players will be starved for the brawler they want for who knows how long(my 1st legendary brawler was leon that I got after playing for 2 straight years) whereas some players will get lucky with what they want
Imo they need to make it so unlocking brawler in any way not just via credit will make the new system work cause otherwise it's just not a well thought out system at all and make it so after X amount of brawler we are guaranteed to get start unlocking the brawler which we want
