Can I build a stick or timber frame home on a mobile home foundation?

My wife and I recently found out we are having a baby and need to get more space in our house. We have a 1000 sqft 2006 single wide on a permanent foundation, we own the land(2 acres).
I am wondering if I can put a 500 sq foot basement foundation attached to the permanent mobile home foundation, sell the single wide and then build a 1500 sq foot house on the now combined foundations.
