Resawing for Scroll Saw Art
My scroll saw work needs boards to be thin typically around 6-10mm. If the work requires the board to be wide, say around 15"-16", it presents a problem in that such wide as well as thin stock is not readily available in the market here. The option would be to resaw thick boards using a bandsaw. But, again not everybody has bandsaws with such a large resawing capacity. A way around this problem is to take thick but narrow boards, resaw them and then join them at the edges to obtain a wider but thin board. My question is whether thin boards having thickness typically around 6-10mm could be edge jointed in a way that it would result in a strong joint? I don't intend to use a backer board later.
