The Witcher 3 Remaster isn't Pro Consumer

Discussion / Question

While it is nice that the upgrade is offered for no additional cost to existing W3 owners. The remaster appears to be the same listing on steam, not a separate release. The price of the game increased from $40 to $50. Time will tell if this new version of the game goes down below $10 like the old version, but CDPR should have made it a separate release and allow the consumer to decide if the extra features are worth the additional cost. They essentially just delisted the original version and replaced it with a more expensive version.

To those who say it is the consumer's fault because they had ample chance to purchase the game on sale, how is this relevant? A rational consumer should purchase the game when they are going to play it, and we should all be behaving this way as participants in the free market. There are thousands of games releasing every year. I often play games many years after their release simply because that is when I can get to them, and it is more cost effective.
