If a guy left the date within an hour does that mean he’s not interested most likely?

I had a first date with a guy from Hinge and I thought he was nice throughout the date. After about an hour into the date, he was like yeah I have to go do something but it was nice meeting you. Because of this, I assumed he wasn’t interested and haven’t messaged him. I’m looking back and thinking I would be happy to go on another date but I assume he wasn’t not interested at all if he left so early. I was thinking of messaging him but don’t want to get rejected. Do you think most likely he’s not interested?
