Hello hey! I go by Beetle online, so it’s a pleasure to meet you all!

So back in 2023 when I was fresh out of high school and 19, I went to stay at an old friend’s house for a night. We had a great time! Had a couple drinks (sorry mom), played some board games, binged some YouTube, and just had a really great time.

They didn’t have the third bedroom open yet due to a roommate moving out (in which I was going to be replacing soon) so I was sent to air mattress prison. I didn’t mind, of course! I’ve slept on air mattresses many times before lol.

Well unfortunately… the next morning, things went down. I woke up sunk into the middle of the air mattress, nearly touching the floor. We had failed to notice that the mattress had a small hole in it, and it slowly deflated over night. And ever since that fateful day, I’ve had a messed up lower back.

Now after this, I started seeing a chiropractor for a bit. It helped out for a while, but life unfortunately got in the way and I sort of slacked and stopped seeing him. But as of this week, I went back! And this time, they did some x-rays on me. Got my results yesterday and set up a plan with my chiro, and hooo boy… I did NOT expect the results.

I’ll be seeing him three time a week for the next eight weeks for the first part of our plan. And then another three times a week for another eight weeks for the second… and then another eight weeks for the final part of the plan.

I just felt like sharing my lil’ story, and the lame way I messed up my back. I’m also a digital artist and I’m at my computer a lot, and my posture is horrible… that does NOT help.

Side note— shout out to my IUD wanting to be involved in the front facing X-ray. Her name is Bertha, make sure you say hello.

Some side notes— some days the pain is so unbearable that I can barely breathe. I constantly need muscle relaxers and a heating pad.

There’s been times where my mom or my boyfriend has had to help me up off of the floor because I can’t get up.

I can’t lift heavy things without making that spot in my back flare up, and I can’t stand or walk around for long periods of time without starting to hurt.

As much as I try to keep it lighthearted and make jokes, it’s seriously something that’s made life a living hell, and has even cost me jobs in the past. I’m thankful to my chiropractor for his help, and I can’t wait for this to be fixed.
