How to learn routes as tank?

Hello all. Returning player here. Always enjoyed tanking, but back when I used to play a lot I was mostly just a kid, never too great at it.

Especially with the speed aspect now, how do you go about learning routes and actually be objective about your performance? I can watch guides and stuff and I think I’ve done some keys up to 7-8ish but I’m hesitant to push much beyond without feeling like I know what I’m doing.

Any general tips for tanks for mythic+?
