27 female, vaginal bleeding outside of period after sex. UTI or more serious?

NSFWPhysician Responded

Hi. I'm a 27 year old woman and two nights ago, my boyfriend and I had some very consensual, very rough sex. It's important for context here, and this post involves sexual matters so please be aware as you read on. My menstruation was a week ago, and I am ovulating in 3 days.

That same night, he noticed there was blood but we weren't sure if it was from my vaginal area or his mouth. We finished up and I ended up falling asleep without peeing or cleaning myself up. I am usually good about taking care of myself, but I was bone tired.

I should mention that same night I had taken a 50mg marijuana edible. I am not a frequent drug user or drinker, so I was very very stoned. My boyfriend had drank a little but was by no means drunk; I initiated the sex. I drink less than once a month and the same goes for drug usage. I take no OTC medications but I am on the mirena IUD. My IUD feels normal.

I was fine yesterday (the day after the rough sex) with no symptoms.

Today I woke up at 4am and had the MOST aggressive urge to urinate. I almost didn't make it to the bathroom that was less than 5 feet away. Not sure if blood was present at this time as I kept the light off, but the urine was an aggressive stream lasting a good few seconds. No pain that I noticed.

I went back to bed. I woke up again around 7:25am and peed again, this time I noticed pale blood spots and a little bit of a burning sensation. As I write this, I have gone to pee 2 more times in the last half hour.

The 7:25 pee was a normal stream, except for the blood and burning. The two consecutive bathroom trips were just tiny droplets not full streams of pee with the burning, each time with that pale blood present staining the toilet paper.

The last pee I took had a VERY small clot present, dark, paper thin, and about half the size of a dime.

I have no other symptoms and my vulva appears normal with no marks to indicate where the blood is coming from. The blood is coming from the internal cavity.

I had a UTI once 13 years ago, so I am not super experienced in this, but you don't forget that burning feeling.

I'd like to avoid the doctor if possible. I live in the USA and currently have no insurance, which is why I am here.
