I often need to capture webpage screenshots, whether it's capturing full pages, annotating UI for tutorials, or adding browser frames for feature demos. But I ran into two major issues with existing tools:

* Many extensions request permissions beyond their core capture function, some even want to read data on all websites, which raises my privacy concerns.
* The UI/UX is often clunky and unintuitive.

So I spent a few months building **PageCap**, a privacy-friendly, local-first screenshot extension which:

* Works entirely locally in your browser, no tracking or unnecessary permissions.
* Captures full pages, visible areas, selected areas or page elements.
* Has a built-in editor that lets you add window frames, background colors, annotations, or crops the canvas.
* Lets you set up different style presets for each capture mode to streamline your workflow.
* Supports PNG, JPG and PDF export.

**Is it free?**
Yes! PageCap is free to use for basic screenshots with no watermarks on export. A Pro license (early bird $9/yr) is only required if you need advanced features such as cropping, annotations and unlimited style presets.

If you're looking for a webpage screenshot tool, feel free to give it a try! I’d love to get your feedback to make it better.
