Why exactly would they force the population to take the COVID-19 vaccine?

I often hear people say that the vaccine is harmful and things like that, or talk about “conspiracy theories.” However, I wanted to understand: why? Why would governments or companies force us to take this vaccine?

I’ve heard people claim that it was about population reduction, but what would be the purpose of that? What would they ultimately be trying to achieve?
