Want a car with outdoor capabilities and storage

As the title says, I currently drive a mini. Very fun car to drive but makes my weekend fishing, camping and hunting trips virtually impossible. Looking for another vehicle that gives me space to bring cargo with no issue. Would like to get good gas mileage as well. I don’t need something that can rock crawl. Would like 4wd as NE winters can get brutal.

I was looking at a ford maverick, Subaru Outback or maybe a 4 runner. I’m trying to stay on the cheaper side and basic. Don’t care about expensive features. Just need something that gets me to a-b with my stuff
