Regarding the new voices in the revival...
I don't actually mind Kahn's new voice. If anything it's growing on me. It's surprisingly fitting, and the delivery, tone and personality is very Kahn-esque. I could imagine younger Kahn (Toby Huss) talking about his divorce and gradual friendship with Bill, but the new voice makes it work better, somehow. Whoever voices him now is doing a good job, regardless if he knew how Kahn sounded/was like beforehand or not.
Dale...easily the worst. He has no emotion when he speaks, he actually sounds like a robot from California. The prime example is when he is at a stake-out (I think) with his son Joseph, and he sounds like a checked-out DMV employee. Hardwick (RIP), with all due respect, started to lose that Gribble-ness in the first few episodes. Toby is doing what he can with Dale, and I respect his efforts. But it's still not there.
Lastly we have Bobby Hill. Still voiced by a woman. I was DYING to know what he would sound like as a Gen Z-er, but he's just slightly deeper in tone, similar to mid-almost late seasons of the original series. Yes, some real people have almost the same light voice in their 30's as when they were 15. Puberty is one hell of a thing. Sometimes even I feel like I talk like that despite being 27. But it doesn't change the fact it's distracting, yet again. I even wondered if they would recieve the feedback and come up with a BS excuse to make Bobby sound like a proper man rather than an old woman.
Do you agree?
