Text after first date

Hi! Had a nice time out w a guy (46) I (50) met on line. There was good chemistry and conversation flowed. Date last about 2 hrs total which is fine for a first date. There was something “off” for me but I haven’t dated in over a year and I am super cautious with OLD. We left with plans to see each other again and we had a great kiss. Then he text me when he got home and it got strange. When we were out, I had joked about what I put in my phone as the person’s name to remember who it is. He didn’t ask me then how he is in my phone. But he didn’t ask when he text me last night. Here’s how that went.

“So you never told me how I am in your phone?”
I told him. (It’s his first name and an abbreviation of the app we met on.)
He wrote, “hahaha. Is it going to change?”
I said, “Nope!”
He said, “Ok our date wasn’t special then”
I said, “I never change the name.”
He said, “I feel like I earned a name change or an upgrade but ok” and clarified the abbreviation for the app to which I said he was correct. Then I put a “Ha Ha” over the message that said he thought he earned a name change (in hopes that he would come back with something funny and that he was joking around in the first place)

There was radio silence after that.

So- am I jumping the gun by saying I am not going to see him again? Or is it worth it to ask directly about his comment? Thanks for the input!
