My parents realesed my dog

Advice Wanted

I don't even know how to start typing this, but I have to put it somewhere or I feel like I'm going to lose my mind. Me (16/M) ,Today is a one full week. Seven days since my life was shattered, and I am living under the roof of the people who broke it.

A week ago, I was sick with jaundice. My father told me he was taking me to tear one city for medicines, and told me to bring Max—my dog, my best friend, the one who used to lie across my legs every night and keep me anchored. I thought we were all going together.

Instead, he lied. He drove out, and right in front of my eyes, they released Max and abandoned him.

While Max chased our car barking, I sat trapped inside, crying, begging my father and his friend to stop. They didn't. They sped up, and they sat there and laughed at me while I broke down.

Now, it’s been seven days of absolute hell. They tell me to "get over it," that he was just a "mischievous" dog and it was for the best. When I try to find anyone online just to talk or breathe, and my family finds out, they physically abuse me for it. They try to rewrite history and make me feel crazy for mourning.

The house is deafeningly quiet. I keep expecting to hear his paws, his little barks when he wanted water or a biscuit, or his heavy warmth across my legs. But there's nothing. Just empty space and people who hate that I remember what they did.

I just want him to be safe, healthy, and happy wherever he is. I don't want anything else. But the weight of this betrayal is crushing, and I just needed to tell someone who wouldn't laugh at my pain.

I Failed to protect him.
