Does anyone else like AI training better then their real job?
I recognize that I’m incredibly fortunate to have a full time 9-5 that pays the bills. Not everyone does. AI training is a side hustle for me.
But I came to the realization that I genuinely enjoy the AI work far more than my career.
My 9-5 involves fighting bumper to bumper traffic to get to the office, sitting at an uncomfortable cubicle unable to focus because of the nonstop chatter all around, impromptu meetings about nothing and honestly mind-numbing work that makes no difference in the world. Stressful.
Working AI training gigs has been the opposite. I literally just open my laptop when I feel like, send a couple slack chats if needed and get to it. No distractions. No stress. The autonomy of the work is freeing. The analysis is actually interesting and engaging. It’s pretty cool to participate in training AI models that will likely revolutionize how we all live.
If I could actually earn a living and receive benefits doing this I totally would.
