Can you land directly on a node?

I was wondering if starting / drop locations are predetermined or random in a set area. Because if it's the latter, and a node happens to be right inside that zone, could you actually land directly on top of it? Imagine getting a new custom seed that spawns uranium right where your pod physically drops... well that would surely hurt
