This rubbed me the wrong way about the finale.

I was elated as soon as Rouhaan Abbas said he will perform Bade Ghulam Ali Khan Sb's thumri Yaad piya ki aaye but omitting the sthai "Haaye Ram" took away from the impace of the pain in entire piece that is essential to this thumri and the personal weight of the tragedy on Bade Khan Sb and why he composed it in the first place.

I don't know if there are any other renditions where "Haaye Ram" has been omitted, but from a musical point of view it made little sense to me.

As far as religiosity is concerned then I don't understand why you would opt to choose this thumri in the first place, let alone the fact that composer of the thumri himself was a Muslim. It stung me a bit more because of the history of Bade Ghulam Ali Khan Sb's departure from Pakistan and why it happened, this removal added to the remorse I feel about that chapter in our history, we didn't do right by him and now we didn't do right by his thumri.
